When using the Vision Pro, you have two primary methods for recording video: recording directly on the device or using screen mirroring to another device. However, both of these options typically utilize foveated rendering, which means the recorded video won’t be in full 4K resolution throughout. Fortunately, there’s a solution if you’re able to enable developer mode. Here’s how you can do it:

  1. Enable Developer Mode: First, pair your Vision Pro with your Mac.
  • Go to Settings > General > Remote Devices on your Vision Pro to establish the connection.

2. Activate Developer Mode:

  • Navigate to Settings > Privacy and switch on developer mode.

3. Reboot Your Device: Restart your Vision Pro to apply the changes.

4. Use Reality Composer Pro: On your Mac, open Reality Composer Pro.

  • Go to File > Developer Capture and select your Vision Pro device for recording.

By following these steps, you can bypass the foveated rendering limitations and capture true 4K video from your Vision Pro. This method ensures that your recordings maintain their full clarity and resolution.
